Alas, it looks like we've come to the end of a really fun sailing season. A two week (plus) Summer Cruise. The annual picnic with its election of new leadership for the coming year. The world famous Crab Cake Feast at Rock Hall, followed by the Fall Cruise. Wow! It was quite a year on the water. That's what being part of the CSC is all about!
Next up is a supper at the Eastport Yacht Club, courtesy of club members and our hosts Dave and Janet Ewing. What a wonderful venue to celebrate our year and wind down activities near the water! Looking forward to seeing lots of our members there, hopefully everyone still in the area.
Since we've adopted an every-other-month publishing schedule for the Scuttlebutt, this will mark my final column as CSC's Commodore. Let me take this opportunity to thank everyone for your wonderful support during my two years at the helm. We have a wonderful group of friends in this club who share the joy of sailing and just being together on the water. It has been a terrific couple years. And here's to wishing incoming Commodore Liz all the good fortune and fun I've had!
So, as we tuck our boats in for their long winter naps, let's think back on a really great boating season and think fond thoughts about the year ahead. And thanks again to everyone for a wonderful two years!
Happy November and Happy Thanksgiving to all!
Vice Commodore's Report
It is time for the sailing club to gather one more time before the holidays. This time we are going to Eastport Yacht Club on Sunday, November 15, at 5 PM. You cannot park in their parking lot so if you cannot find a parking spot on the street I suggest you park in the lot across the street from the yacht club since the offices are not usually open on Sunday. That is where we park when we go to the yacht club on weekends. If you find you have to cancel let me know. Thanks to Janet and Dave Ewing for hosting us. They will make a reservation for us and so far we are expecting 16 people.
Frank and I wish everyone a very Happy Thanksgiving.
